There was a family that consisted of a mom, a dad, a boy, and a girl. The mom dies. The dad doesn't know what to do without her, so he ends up becoming his hermit, not even taking care of his kids. The kids are young, but the boy, who is the oldest, goes to high school. In my dream, he steals a car and drives into a field after driving through the school parking lot and the streets. (He drives well, mind you, for being only 10-ish.) Before getting out of the lot, however, the principal or the dad comes out and stands in front of the car. But the boy just drives right through him, after braking for a minute.
There was more to the dream, but I can't remember.
